Explore Uppsala’s vibrant innovation hubs

We will take you to a tour to visit three of the many innovation hubs located in the city of Uppsala. These are Base 10, Testa Center and Green Innovation Park. Please indicate in your registration which of the three hubs you'd like to visit. Limited spots!

BASE10

BASE10 aims to create good conditions for more globally competitive innovators and companies in the tech sector in the Uppsala region. It is a community for startups, large companies and investors who together create a sustainable future.
During the visit, you will listen to BASE10’s story and meet some of the startups in their community. Sandvik Coromant Gimo, Uppsala Region’s joint largest employer which has recently opened its first office at BASE10, will also talk about the importance of being part of the BASE10's  community for its continued success and growth.


Testa Center

Björkgatan 30

Testa Center is an open testbed for biological production in collaboration with Cytiva, one of Uppsala's largest private employers. The center offers academic researchers as well as small and large companies the possibility to test biological, digital and technical innovations in a lab equipped for biological production. This is not something the industry usually have access to.
During the visit, participants will put on lab coats and protective glasses to take a tour inside the labs. You will also find out more about Testa Center’s offering, its successful collaborations and key role within the bioprocessing industry.

Green Innovation Park

Green Innovation Park is a co-working concept where academy, entrepreneurs and students gather to network, share their knowledge and inspire each other. It offers researchers, students and member companies support to grow their business idea.
During the visit, you will meet some of their companies, hear about their journey and how the Park has contributed to its success. You will also learn about other exciting projects and success stories implemented at Green Innovation Park.


Lunch and interesting talks at Uppsala's City Hall
Join us as we wrap up the event with lunch at Uppsala's City Hall, where you will have the chance to taste Havredal's plant-based hamburgers made at Friggas’ restaurant - a collaboration between a startup and an established company.

Listen to Uppsala’s Director of Business and Economic Development, Charlotte Skott, followed by an inspirational talk from Havredal’s founder and CTO, Per-Johan Thörn, and a closing speech by SISP’s Interim CEO and Ignite Sweden’s Program Manager, Stina Lantz.

Last but not least, you will also have the chance to visit the “Uppsala room” at the city hall to learn more about some of Uppsala’s collaboration partners within the innovation support system:

- STUNS Energy: A business unit within STUNS foundation that aims to provide test beds focusing on sustainability that can contribute to the development of new technologies, services and business models in the region of Uppsala.
- Uppsala Innovation Center (UIC): Ranked among the top 5 incubators in the world by UBI Global, this is Uppsala’s local business incubator. They support innovative startups and growth companies from all industries to commercialize, scale-up or reach an international market.
- City of Uppsala – Corporate Task Force for Industrial Expansion & New Establishments: Aiming to facilitate the expansion of both existing and newly established companies in Uppsala, they provide expertise in technical infrastructure for the advanced manufacturing industry in various fields including business development, water and sewerage, land development and urban planning.

This year's edition of Ignite Sweden Summit will take place in the city of Uppsala.
